Claims Technician – Birchwood

Reporting to the Corporate Claims Manager, the Claims Technician is responsible for providing the highest level of support to Opteven’s corporate partners and their clients.

Main Job Missions

  • Manage decision process for claims approval or refusal.
  • Manage technical relationships with dealers and repairers.
  • Commission independent expert for complex claims and manage the outcome, and support incident managers with mechanical basics.

Key activities

  • Claims management including assessing vehicle and policy details, validating claim, using various tools to support claim decision, compile summary reports for high value claims, ensure approval costings are correct and within agreed parameters, communicate claim decision promptly and clearly.
  • Answer inbound calls, providing relevant information including claim validation explanation or transferring customer as appropriate.
  • Accounts assistance.
  • Attempt to resolve issues to avoid a complaint, log customer dissatisfaction, raise complaints using correct procedure.
  • Teamwork – participate in weekly team meetings and communicate key issues.

Qualifications for this job

  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Proficient in MS Office packages
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Technical knowledge of motor vehicles an advantage but not essential
  • Skills

  • Confident speaking to customers over the phone.
