Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Senior Partnership Manager, the objective of this role is to grow the AA dealer base, volumes and gross premium.  Responsible for new business acquisition through prospecting of existing AA Cars Dealers who currently do not offer AA Warranty. Work closely with the wider Account Managers to ensure smooth onboarding of Dealers prior to handover.

Main Job Missions

Sales Growth:

  • Grow the AA policy/ GWP/ dealer account volumes in line with targets
  • Identify new business opportunities and to maintain a log of strategic targets as agreed with Line Manager
  • Speedy response and end to end management of new leads

Reporting/ Recording:

  • Daily and effective usage of the CRM systems and processes including recording each communication through CRM and ensuring future tasks are always in place for any live opportunity
  • Report on core KPI for your area
  • Forecast Sales performance and rectification plan requirements
  • Actively utilising data to identify opportunities for the broader AA brand

Cost Control:

  • Ensure Dealers signed are qualified and assessed fully for suitability to limit risk of non-performance/burn issues
  • Operating within delegated authority levels of your role

Relationship Management:

  • Carry out regular Dealer reviews, preferably face to face where previous actions are reviewed/amended based on performance and improvement plans are created
  • Implementing an effective handover plan to the Account Management team
  • Training deployed where needed

Dealer activities:

  • Dealer training on system/product where needed
  • Ensure 12-week onboarding process is followed for each new sign up
  • Manage Debt in conjunction with the Finance department
  • Look to act quickly to provide solutions to any Dealer raised issues and communicate each time with a conclusion email
  • Ensure each AA Account in your responsibility are utilising the full suite of digital assets for vehicle adverts along with up to date warranty page content
  • Oversee dealers adhering to the strict AA brand usage guidelines at all times and acting swiftly, following the official brand removal steps, should any dealer act outside of guidelines
  • Provide outstanding, pro-active customer service to you customer base.
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts

 

Internal Activities:

  • Work closely with AA Cars team to maximise mutual opportunities, providing regular updates to ensure all parties are kept up to date with recent events
  • Work with the various internal departments (eg Claims/Sales Support) to ensure we are offering the best possible service to our dealers and their customers
  • Regular logging and use CRM systems to ensure records are kept accurate and up to date for future opportunities/communications
  • Regularly review core KPI for the Area. New business development, average policies per month rates and loyalty are important aspects
  • Continually evaluate the performance of your dealers in relation to Burn rates, implementing rectification plans that may include price increases and their stock management practices.
  • Be the advocate for voice of the customer and dealer.

Qualifications required for this job:

Higher Education and/or demonstrable experience in a similar field

Hard Skills:

  • New Business acquisition experience
  • Good communication skills (email/CRM recording)
  • Ability to develop relationships quickly
