Motorway enhances its insurance product to cover over 90% of vehicles on its platform, the most comprehensive of its kind on the market

Motorway, the UK’s fastest-growing used car marketplace, has today enhanced its insurance offering, Motorway Protect, to provide even greater peace of mind for its dealer partners. This update makes Motorway Protect the most comprehensive insurance offering of its kind in the market.

Motorway Protect was initially launched last year, and is an FCA-regulated insurance offering – powered by Opteven UK – that provides dealers with protection against unforeseen mechanical and electrical issues discovered after purchasing a vehicle. Motorway Protect is part of Motorway’s end-to-end service that allows dealers to seamlessly source, pay for, fund, insure and transport quality stock, all within its marketplace platform.

Motorway’s vehicle profiling has been developed to provide dealers with the highest quality stock, using AI technology to provide consistent vehicle listings, reducing the number of unexpected issues.

However, Motorway Protect gives dealers an additional layer of reassurance, offering protection against any unexpected issues that may arise.

The new enhanced policy offers increased vehicle eligibility – up to 15 years or 150,000 miles – meaning that Motorway Protect now covers over 90%* of privately owned cars sold on the platform, excluding those still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

It also offers an increased claim limit of £10,000, which is significantly more than similar products in the market, and an increased claim window of five calendar days after vehicle collection.

Motorway Protect claims are managed through an easy-to-use online portal, with claims submitted in a matter of minutes and reviewed by Opteven UK’s claims team within four working hours.
